      The statistics analysis of space debris in beam parking model based on the Arctic 500 MHz incoherent scattering radar

      • Space debris observation data based on the 500 MHz incoherent radar at 78°N are analyzed statistically. Main results are as follows:the total number of space debris observed are 88 679, about 1 215 per day and 50 each hour; the number of space debris in the range from 800 to 1 000 km is notably larger than others; the radial velocity almost distributed evenly in the range from -1.25 to 1.25 km/s; the effective diameter is about 3-10 cm. In the short period, the number distribution of space debris has little variations, but in the long period, the number of space debris show a increasing trend and the distribution coverage turn a little wider; the number of space debris reach the maximal from 6 to 8 LT and from 12 to 14 LT daily. The above results are helpful to understand the characteristics of space debris distribution in the Arctic and also important for the modeling and forecast of space debris.
