Abstract
In order to recover the reference signal of the passive bistatic radar exploiting sky wave transmission and ground wave reception, a kind of combined blind equalization algorithm is proposed to combat the reference signal distortions caused by the multipath reflections of the ionosphere. Super exponential (SE) algorithm with fast convergence rate is utilized to initialize the weight of a constant modulus equalizer based on auto-regressive and moving average (ARMA) model. The combined algorithm has the advantages of the fast convergence rate and low computational complexity, and is appropriate for the equalization of severe multipath fading ionospheric channels with zeros near the unit circle. The performance of the proposed algorithm is proven by computer simulations.
