Research on a design method for a simultaneous transmit and receive antenna with wideband and high isolation

      • In this paper, a broadband high isolation transceiver simultaneous antenna design method is proposed to meet the needs of electronic countermeasures for transceiver simultaneous electronic countermeasures of aircraft platforms. The transceiver antenna adopts the overall layout of “front-transmitter-receiver”, designs two sizes of dual-polarized magneto-electric dipole antennas, and determines the optimal structure of the transceiver antenna by combining the methods of frequency isolation, isolation metal wall, carbonyl-iron conformal absorbing material, and choke slots, etc. The transceiver antenna is designed in a compact microwave space of Φ130 mm×350 mm in diameter. The antenna has a wideband (2.5-6 GHz, 8-12 GHz) operating VSWR of less than 2.2, transceiver isolation of better than 60 dB, and a peak gain of 10.33 dBi of the transmitter antenna array in a compact microwave space of Φ130 mm×350 mm in diameter. The designed antenna is physically prepared and measured, and the measured results are in good agreement with the simulation results, which show that the antenna has high isolation and wide beam performance.
