      Experimental study on OTH detection performance of microwave radar along the coast

      • 摘要: 基于蒸发波导预报模型和电磁波传播模型,用X波段岸基微波雷达、海面水文气象环境数据采集器和雷达最大探测距离预报系统构建了实验系统.2011年9月至11月在我国黄海海域进行的岸海交界处微波雷达超视距探测实验实际观测结果表明:在较低的天线架设高度上,利用蒸发波导岸基微波雷达也可实现远距离超视距探测,而通过采集岸海交界处的气象水文信息,可以对其进行雷达最大探测距离的预测.

         

        Abstract: Based on evaporation duct model and electromagnetic wave propagation model, the experiments system consisted of X band microwave radar and marine atmospheric and hydrologic data acquisition and prediction system of radar maximum detection range. The observed results of the over the horizon (OTH)detection experiments done at the coast area of Yellow Sea from September to November in 2011 show that it is feasible to realize OTH detection of the shore based microwave radar using the marine evaporation duct even when radar antenna height is low. The results also show that by acquiring coastal atmospheric and hydrologic information marine target maximum detection range of shore based microwave radar can be predicted.
