Abstract:
This paper proposes a method for the design of broadband antenna impedance matching networks. Based on the simplified real frequency technique, the method traverses optimizing procedures under different network orders and different number of transmitting zeros located at the origin, and avoids the miss of potential good solutions in the simplified real frequency technique. Trade-off between the network matching performance and physical realizing difficult degree is introduced into the designing procedure, and the final solution is chosen from all the optimized results. Consequently, the method is flexible and well suitable for engineering applications. Utilizing this method, a network for matching a small profile shortwave broadband antenna is designed and measured. The result shows that the method is effective and practical.
