Abstract:
A coplanar waveguide(CPW)fed sleeve antenna which supports multiband applications is proposed. The central feeder line and the ground plane of the CPW are designed to be gradually changed in structure. Open sleeve structure and an inverted-L strip are adopted in the proposed antenna which broader the bandwidth to a great extent. Compared with antennas in previous researches, this antenna has a small size of 56 mm×36 mm×0.8 mm, while covers wider bandwidth, which can support personal communication system(PCS)1900, wideband code division multiple access(WCDMA),universal mobile telecommunicatim system(UMTS), wireless broadband(WiBro), wireless local area ntework(WLAN), worldwide interoperability of microwave access(WiMAX) system at the same time. The miniaturization, broadband and multiband characteristics of this proposed antenna is realized. Antenna shows omni-directivity in azimuth plane.The measured results agree well with the simulated ones, which displays good radiation characteristic and practicability for wireless communications.
