      Low-redundancy MIMO radar array structure design

      • 摘要: 针对多输入多输出(MIMO)雷达虚拟阵列的特点,提出一种基于最小冗余阵组合的方法来设计MIMO雷达发射阵列和接收阵列,使得MIMO雷达虚拟阵列为最小冗余阵,从而可以利用有限的阵元获得大的虚拟阵列孔径。还研究了在总的阵元数给定的情况下如何分配发射阵元数和接收阵元数以使MIMO雷达虚拟阵列孔径最大。理论分析和仿真结果表明:提出的MIMO雷达阵列设计方法简单易于实现,阵元利用率高,可以用于大阵元数的MIMO雷达系统。

         

        Abstract: Based on the characteristics of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar virtual array, a new combinatorial method based on minimum redundancy array is proposed for optimal design of transmitting and receiving (Tx/Rx) antenna arrays to make the MIMO radar virtual array be minimum redundancy, which can utilize the limited number of array elements to obtain a large aperture. In addition, for a given total number of Tx/Rx antenna elements, how to allocate the number of Tx and Rx antenna elements to obtain the optimal virtual array has also been studied in this paper. Both analytical and simulation results show that the proposed array design method is simple and easy to implement, has high array element utilization rate, and can be used for MIMO radar with a large number of array elements.
