Abstract:
Propagation models are important to sharing studies of the 5th generation (5G)mobile communication, while clutter loss model is one of the most significant. Statistical model of clutter loss by International Telecommunications Union (ITU) is at first introduced with analysis of its problems. Then a deterministic model is proposed for the prediction of clutter loss when the information of the transmitter, receiver and surrounded buildings is known, the dominant mechanism of which is diffraction of buildings that is mainly considered. By predicting the diffraction of EM wave from top and lateral sides of the building, the clutter loss can be obtained in a synthetic manner. The clutter loss model presented in this paper can be used in the sharing and compatibility studies of IMT systems.
