Abstract:
The fifth generation mobile communication (5G) puts forward higher requirements on channel model such as the capability for millimeter wave band simulations, supporting three-dimensional (3D) MIMO and having better space-time continuity and time evolution. Quasi-deterministic radio channel generator (QuaDRiGa) was recommended as the preferred simulation platform for 5G by 3GPP. However, so far there were no published results on QuaDRiGa verifications in millimeter wave bands. In this paper, based on the outdoor microcellular line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight channel measurements at 26 GHz, the QuaDRiGa platform is verified by the statistics of large scale parameters and channel time evolution. It is shown that the simulation and measurement results have good agreements, which verifies the applicability for QuaDRiGa in millimeter waves.
