Abstract:
A review is given on the origin, development and latest status of chemical releases in space active experiments. Specifically, this review pays an emphasis on about ten experiments of five plans carried out by the United States of America and Russia in the latest five years. We analyze the kinds of chemicals, experiment aims and major phenomena and results of these typical space active experiments, and also the physical and technological issues remained. The related review, analysis and trend outlook would be useful to both ionospheric physics research and the following space active experiments.
