      Numerical echo simulation of Ranging and speed measuring radar for CE-3

      • 摘要: 中国嫦娥三号(Chang’e-3,CE-3)着陆器装载多波束测距测速雷达,实现对软着陆过程的控制.论文对CE-3拟着陆点虹湾地区的雷达回波信号进行电磁散射仿真.基于月球虹湾地区高分辨率数字地型模型(Digital Terrain Model,DTM),利用高频基尔霍夫近似(Kirchhoff Analysis,KA)方法分析雷达降落过程中回波功率和散射系数的特性,分析雷达波束角、频率、极化等参数对回波功率和散射系数(Normalized Radar CrossSection,NRCS)特性的影响.

         

        Abstract: Multi-angular range/speed sensor is equipped for soft-landing control and guidance of CE-3 probe. This paper presents an approach to simulate the scattering echo of radar in Sinus Iridum Area of lunar surface where CE-3 plans to land. Using the high-resolution digital terrain model (DTM) data, the high-frequency kirchhoff analysis(KA) method is used to compute the scattering echo from the rough lunar surface. Then the scattering coefficients (normalized radar cross section, NRCS) are extracted from the echo power. It is analyzed that how the beam angle, radar frequency, and polarization pattern effect the radar echo and NRCS.
