Abstract:
The all-sky meteor radar uses the phase method and the Doppler shift principle to measure meteor trails parameters, and obtain atmospheric wind field, density and temperature at altitudes of 70-110 km. The all-sky meteor radar dataset of Kunming Electromagnetic Environment National Observation and Research Station of China Research Institute of Radiowave Propagation (25.6°N, 103.7°E) includes two formats of data: MET and VEL, which record meteor trails information and atmospheric wind field information, respectively. The meteor trails data includes the distance, angle of arrival, radial velocity, decay time, and diffusion coefficient of the meteor trails, which can be further used to invert atmospheric temperature parameter near 90 km altitude. The all-sky meteor radar dataset can be used for analyzing the temporal and spatial characteristics of atmospheric wind fields in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere regions over Kunming station, studying the atmospheric waves and their coupling roles between different atmosphere layers, supporting the research on near-space atmospheric environment modelling and forecasting technology, and serving the environmental supports of near-space vehicles.
