      An dual-band dual-circularly polarized Fabry-Perot resonant cavity antenna for satellite communication

      • 摘要: 为探索更高性能的卫星通信天线,提出了一种基于法布里-珀罗(Fabry-Perot, F-P)谐振腔的双频双圆极化天线。该天线通过加载两种双层部分反射表面(partial reflective surface, PRS)构建双谐振腔,使得来自馈源的电磁波在双腔体内多次反射并同相叠加,从而实现高增益圆极化辐射。所设计的PRS基于电磁超表面技术分别具有高通和低通功能,使得天线获得了双频特性。采用2×2的切角微带贴片天线阵列作为馈源,并基于顺序旋转馈电技术改善了馈源轴比特性。天线样机的测试结果表明,C波段和Ku波段的工作带宽分别为8.03% 和4.14%,峰值增益为14.78 dBi和14.52 dBi。该天线性能满足频分双工卫星通信系统要求,适用于未来高速卫星互联网的地面设备。

         

        Abstract: For the development of high-performance satellite communication antennas, a dual-band dual-circular polarized antenna based on Fabry-Perot resonant cavity is proposed in this paper. The resonant cavity antenna is equipped with two Partial Reflective Surfaces (PRS) on the upper surface. The high gain and circular polarized radiation are achieved by the multiple reflections and in-phase superposition of the electromagnetic wave in the cavity. The designed PRS is based on electromagnetic metasurface technology and has both high pass and low-pass functions, enabling the antenna to achieve dual frequency characteristics. Using a 2 × 2 angled microstrip patch antenna array as the feed source, the axis ratio is improved with sequential rotation feeding technology. The measurements of the prototype show that the operating bandwidths of the C-band and Ku band are 8.03% and 4.14%, respectively, and the peak gains are 14.78 dBi and 14.52 dBi. The antenna performance meets the requirements of the frequency division duplex satellite communication system, which is suitable for the ground equipment of the future high-speed satellite Internet.
