Micromotion parameters estimation for rotating structures on target in passive radar

      • Since most aircraft targets have rotating structures, the estimation of micromotion parameters for rotating structures on target can provide important information for radar target classification and recognition. Passive radars have some unique advantages in terms of detection and utilization of micro-Doppler effect due to the characteristics of the system. Based on compressive sensing theory, this paper proposes a method of micromotion parameters estimation for rotating structures on target. This method constructs dictionary matrix according to the inherent property of the micro-Doppler signal, and converts the problem of conventional micromotion parameters estimation to the problem of sparse signal recovery. The simulation and real measured data results confirm the validity and robustness of the proposed method.
