      A multi-region surface integral equation method for electromagnetic analysis of electrically large inhomogeneous plasma sheath

      • This paper uses an efficient multi-region surface integral equation (MR-SIE) method to showcase the capacity of electromagnetic analysis of scattering and radiation problems involving plasma sheath with inhomogeneous, electrically large and high negative permittivity properties. The so-called discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method is used to improve the modeling and computational efficiency of multi-region complicated plasma targets. A concise and flexible truncation strategy is implemented to improve the robustness of multi-level fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA), where the numerical instability is observed in the region with high negative permittivity. Numerical experiments demonstrate that this method exhibits good accuracy and efficiency in computing the multi-region plasma sheath model with various partition methods. It can be used for the rapid and precise assessment of electromagnetic radiation and scattering characteristics of large-scale complex plasma targets.
