Abstract:
Analysis of both forward and backward wave propagation in the presence of single knife-edge and multiple knife-edges using iterative two-way parabolic equation (2WPE) approach is presented. For single knife-edge problem, numerical results are compared with those of one-way parabolic equation (1WPE) approach. In addition, the effect of edge locations and heights on the backward-wave is studied. For multiple knife-edges problem, an iterative marching 2WPE algorithm is developed for modeling radio wave propagation between two adjacent knife-dges, and the numerical results are compared with those of one-way parabolic equation approach. 2WPE approach can be used to analyze the total field by adding the backward field to the forward field, so the results are more accurate than those from 1WPE.
