      A beam shaping algorithm based on inner-product operation for array-fed reflector satellite shaped-beam antennas

      • 摘要: 传统的波束赋形方法由于仅仅是使赋形波束在某些方向上逼近目标方向图的采样值,而为获得满意的赋形波束往往需要对所选采样的数量和位置进行反复调整,在实际使用中十分不便。因此,提出一种基于内积运算的波束赋形方法,该方法使赋形波束与目标方向图在几乎所有方向上的误差总和最小,可有效地克服传统方法的缺陷,同时,它也是一种解析算法,具有较高的赋形精度和运算效率。

         

        Abstract: Since for array-fed reflector satellite shaped-beam antennas,traditional beam-shaping algorithms obtain their results simply by approximating the shaped beams to a limited number of samples in the desired patterns at the corresponding directions, which requires antenna designers to adjust the numbers and positions of those selected samples repeatedly before achieving satisfactory patterns and are always difficult to use in practice. Thus, this paper presents a new beam shaping algorithm based on inner-product operation, which instead minimizes the total error of the shaped beam from the desired pattern at almost all directions and therefore overcomes the limitation of those traditional methods. Moreover, the presented algorithm is also an analytical approach to achieve accurate results efficiently.
