Abstract:
A beehive fractal ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with double band-notched property is presented in this paper. The excellent ultra-wideband performance is achieved by using two order beehive structures as radiating patch and the defected ground structure. The double band-notched characteristics in 3.27-4.27 GHz and 7.2-8 GHz are achieved by embedding hexagon and rectangle wide gaps and adding two symmetrical fishhook shape stubs on the radiating patch and etching a narrow inverted U-shaped slot on the feeder line. Therefore, the interference of WiMAX, C band satellite and X band satellite narrowband systems can be efficiently restrained at bandwidth from 2.8-11.6 GHz. Simulated and measured results show that the antenna is suitable for all kinds of UWB communication systems.
