      Ionospheric interference suppression based on numerical pattern synthesis beamforming

      • Numerical pattern synthesis(NPS) method is used to restrain the ionospheric interference in high frequency surface wave radar(HFSWR) system. Both horizontal and vertical directions are involved during beamforming. Proper parameters determined by a directional pattern performance model reveals better performance. The results for 8×8 array simulation and real data show that the ionospheric interference from sky can be effectively restrained.
