      Nonuniform mesh technique for parabolic equation

      • The nonuniform mesh technology of parabolic equation method is studied for the purpose of rapidly and accurately solving the radio wave propagation problems in large region with local fine structures.The radio propagation on irregular terrain with the standard atmospheric structure is calculated.In addition, the approach to deal with the field value on the nongrid points of conventional parabolic equation method is discussed.Both of them are based on the nonuniform mesh technology.The parabolic equation method with nonuniform mesh can make the grid number decreased by 68% and the computational time reduced by 71% compared with the uniform fine grid in testing, and has higher precision compared with the uniform coarse grid.This demonstrates that the nonuniform mesh parabolic equation method can improve the computational efficiency greatly and is suitable for solving the radio propagation problems in complex environment.
