Abstract
Frequent channel switching impairs system performance. To solve the problem, a novel algorithm is proposed to optimize channel switching on the basis of the traditional method. By predicting and comparing future idle time of different channels, this algorithm controls channel switching more effectively on the premise of minimum interference of primary users, thus reduces the cost of channel switching and decreases sensing overhead. Simulation results show that application of this novel algorithm can reduce the quantity of channel switching by about 20%.
