Spectrum measurement and analysis of UHF band based on cognitive radio in Guangdong province

To provide a realistic basis for the application of cognitive radio in Guangdong province, twomonth spectrum measurement of UHF band was carried out in the Peal River Delta area. The results show that current spectrum utilization is commonly low, and they differ according to areas and time for the same band. The broadcast and TV channel occupancy models reflect the regularity of their opening time. Meanwhile, through dividing frequencies into five different levels based on their duty cycles, the availability of successive vacant bandwidth for cognitive radio users to access can be analyzed.
