Abstract
By analyzing the equivalent circuit mode for electromagnetic bandgap (EBG), a novel vertical cascaded EBG structure is proposed for overcoming the characteristic of narrow bandwidth of conventional EBG structure. The simulation results demonstrate the stopband from 0.75 GHz to 15.7 GHz and the bandwidth is 14.95 GHz at the restrain depth of -40 dB. Comparing with the traditional onevia Mushroom EBG structure, the bandwidth presented EBG is increased by 3.65 GHz and the relative bandwidth is improved by 32.3 %. The new structure provids a new kind of theoretical designing reference for EBG structure to improve the bandwidth of restraining noise.
