Characterization and comparison of indoor MIMO channel at 6.05 GHz and 2.45 GHz

      • In order to identify the differences between multipleinput multipleoutput(MIMO) wireless indoor channel at high frequency and that at traditional low frequency band, 300 transfer functions of MIMO wireless channels at 6.05 GHz as well as 2.45 GHz were measured by a channel sounder based on vector network analyzer(VNA)in typical indoor environment respectively. Some large and small scalar MIMO channel characteristics including path loss, delay spread and spatial correlation were compared. As a result, new features of wireless spacetime channel at high frequency were clarified.Compared with signal at low frequency band, signal at high frequency band has higher path loss, larger delay spread and lower spatial correlation. When design and assess high frequency wide band MIMO system, these features should be taken into account. At last, all measurement results are listed to provide guidance for the design and evaluation of indoor MIMO mobile communication systems at 6.05 GHz frequency band.
