Design of 50 Ω load Blumlein-type high-voltage nanosecond square pulse generator

A modified parallel connection method for Blumlein structure is presented in this paper. The experimental result show that this method can generate nanosecond square pulse on the load of 50 Ohm. The influence of resistance and inductance of switch on output pulse is analyzed. To increase the efficiency and decrease rise time, the methods of decreasing resistance and inductance, optimizing electrocircuit structure, and improving balancing of circuit are discussed.
