Abstract
The measurement method of the surface transfer impedance of shielded cables in time domain is proposed. The measurement system consists of high voltage pulse source, triaxial device, impedance matching network and digital oscolloscope. It can measure the coupled voltage or current of shielded cables. Comparison results show that the curve of the proposed time-domain methods fits well with that of the traditional frequency-domain methods. A modeling method is further proposed to describe the surface transfer impedance by system functions. The established model can estimate the response of the shielded cable accurately. Several examples are used to verify the efficiency of the modeling method.
