Transient interference excision based on wavelet influence cone in over-the-horizon radar

      • Transient interference severely degrades the detection performance of over-the-horizon radar (OTHR). To solve this problem, a novel method based on wavelet influence cone is proposed in this paper. This technique can effectively detect singularities of signal i.e.transient in terference by using 1-D discrete stationary wavelet transform, and the detail coefficients in wavelet influence cone are set to zero, at last the data reconstruction is fulfilled by using 1-D inverse discrete stationary wavelet transform. The proposed method avoids to perform clutter suppression, and to reconstruct data through interpolation. Furthermore, this method needs less computation and is practical. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is demonstrated by using experimental data from OTHR system.
