      A prediction method of the troposcatter transmission loss with high elevation

      • Radio method is applied to solve the problem of the emergency communication in mountainous area. since the microwave and VHF communication are restricted due to the obstructions as mountains. Because troposcatter communication has the ability of crossing over obstructions, it is possible to be used in mountainous area communication. The traditional application condition is commonly based on low elevation, but in this paper, the transmission loss of the troposcatter radio wave is mainly discussed in the case of high elevation. Through practical measure to many communication links and theoretical analysis, it is proved that the tropocatter communication can be applied in crossing obstructions, and a calculating method of the troposcatter transmission with high elevation loss is given on the basis of existing prediction models of troposcatter transmission loss. The results predicted by this method agree well with the practical data.
