Abstract
Considering the characteristic of co-channel interference based on limited feedback beamforming in cellular systems,opportunistic beamforming method with limited number of weights is proposed.By choosing beamforming vector randomly from a pre-designed codebook,the variation of desired interference is non-user specific. As a result,more precise interference measurement and rate prediction could be achieved,and outage probability due to feedback delay and fluctuation of interference is decreased.Both theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the transmit rate of the proposed method with proportional fair scheduling is similar to that of limited feedback beamforming,and further system throughput is increased.
