Electromagnetic topology algorithm of shielding effectiveness analysis of a metallic enclosure with off-centre apertures
This paper presents an electromagnetic topology algorithm for shielding effectiveness(SE) estimation based on electromagnetic topology theory, which improves Robinson’s Equivalent circuit model. In this algorithm, the aperture is represented by a two-port network, and its scattering matrix is used to describe the moving-standing wave in the box, which further establishes an equation of the inside and outside electromagnetic field. Based on the theory used to analyze the enclosure with off-centre apertures, the SE can be calculated through modifying the aperture scattering matrix. The enclosure with off-centre aperture and aperture arrays are simulated and the accuracy of this algorithm is verified during a frequency domain from 0 GHz to 2 GHz, by comparing with a conventional full-wave simulation tool CST. According to the above simulation, the paper analyzes the effect of the aperture width, the position of observation points, polarization angle and azimuth angle on SE.
