Abstract
A compact ultra-wideband MIMO antenna with dual notch characteristics is proposed. The antenna consists of two radiating elements, the overall size is 41 mm×25 mm×1.6 mm. Good isolation is achieved by introducing two superimposed T-shaped structures in the ground plane of the antenna. At the same time, by etching the C-slot and U-slot on the antenna, dual notch characteristics can be achieved, effectively suppressing interference from WLAN and X-band communication satellites. The notch principle is analyzed from the perspective of surface current distribution. Experimental results show that the impedance bandwidth of the designed MIMO antenna is 2.8−13.4 GHz, and the two notch bands are 4.8−5.94 GHz and 6.9−8.23 GHz, respectively. Within the entire operating bandwidth, the isolation is greater than 15 dB. MIMO antenna has good radiation characteristics, stable gain and very low envelope correlation coefficient (ECC <0.1), suitable for UWB-MIMO system applications.
