The latest development of the modulated metasurface antenna

As a new research frontier derived from metamaterial technology in recent years, the metasurface modulation antenna is of great significance for the design of new electronic sweep antenna, which has advantages such as low cost, low power consumption, flexibility and controll ability, and has an important application prospect in fields such as electromagnetic field radiation and stealth. This paper presents a brief overview of the metasurface, summarizes design thought and operation mechanism of modulated metasurface antenna (MMA), and introduces the recent progress of MMA on research and application. Finally, it expounds the crucial problem faced by the modulation technique and future development of MMA.
