A survey of satellite navigation channel models

Satellite navigation channel has the characteristics of broadband, time-varying, complex multipath in urban, etc. In order to practically enhance, effectively predict and evaluate the performance of Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS), it is necessary to measure and model the satellite channel in the challenging environment. This paper mainly discusses the measurement and modeling of satellite navigation channel and its research advances. It summarizes the research status of measurement activities, reviews the general methods of channel modeling and the summary of measurement activities related to satellite navigation, and discusses and compares several prevailing GNSS channel models. Finally, the challenge of satellite navigation channel modeling and the future research focus are discussed.
