      Leader magnetic location and current inversion of triggered lightning

      • In order to further analyze the discharge process and current characteristics of the triggered lightning direct leader, we establishes a method for dual station cross magnetic position of lightning channel. The method adopts the magnetic orientation of the low-sensitivity magnetic field return and the magnetic orientation of the high-sensitivity magnetic direction finding (MDF) process, and uses the two-station cross to locate the direct-lead discharge channel. The triggered lightning test observation data shows that the error of the orientation result is within 2%, and the average positioning error of the dual station magnetic positioning is 89.06 meters, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method. In addition, based on the magnetic field waveform, the leader current reconstruction model is established, and step by step calculation is used to optimize the parameter fitting. The correlation between the measured magnetic field waveform and the simulated magnetic field waveform is appropriate.
