      Characteristics and modeling requirements for the near-field electromagnetic scattering

      • The paper introduces a problem of the near-field electromagnetic scattering. The confusion of near-field characteristics is explained in the perspective of electromagnetic scattering, and the property of the local illumination and the relevance with a sensor and dynamic process, is discussed. Furthermore, the basic modeling requirements for target models, electromagnetic algorithms, and computational features are presented in light of near-field characteristics. Finally, a typical missile-borne radar is used to illustrate the near-field dynamic modeling requirements, including the motion models, antenna pattern, dynamic sample and so on.
