Abstract
This paper presents a method to enhance the scattering characteristics of chaff radar based on Angle reflector. Based on the traditional "dipole" chaff, the electromagnetic scattering of chaff is enhanced by the strong scattering characteristics of the circular plate angle reflector. At the same time, in order to take into account the electromagnetic scattering in all directions, a number of circular angular reflectors are combined to form a spherical strong scattering structure with the outer contour. By adjusting the radius of the spherical structure, the radar cross section(RCS) of a single chaff and chaff array can be controlled. Finally, an array of single chaff is formed for a new chaff structure. In this paper, the scattering characteristics of chaff radar under different parameters such as working frequency, incidence angle, spherical envelope radius and so on, which are enhanced by angular reflector scattering, and the results show that the RCS of a single chaff could be increased by more than 30 dBm2 by using the new chaff scattering enhancement structure.
