Abstract
In this paper, the integrated method of HF communication and channel detection is studied through experiments for which digital radio mondiale signals are selected as an example of integrated signals. Based on the processing and analysis of the received data of the experiments, the applicability of the integrated method to the real channel environment is verified. Meanwhile, in the case of multimode propagation, it is found that, when the Doppler shift of each mode is identical, the pulse compression side-lobe energy can lead to the error associated with time delay extraction and subsequently affect the performance of signal correction. Moreover, the time delay broadening of the sub-mode also affect the signal correction effect. The analysis shows that the smaller the relative attenuation of the sub-mode with time delay broadening, the greater the effect on the signal correction. Compared with the traditional pilot estimation method, the integrated method has a better effect on the signal correction of multimode propagation. The research of this paper provides theoretical and practical basis for the follow-up exploration in the integrated technology of HF communication and channel detection.
