Abstract
Monitoring of space debris(SD) is significant for maintaining aerospace activities of mankind. In this paper statistical distribution including kinetic characteristic of space debris is studied by analysis of data from incoherent scattering radar in Qujing of Yunnan, with the following results:1) the largest population of SD is distributed in 800 km and 1 000 km orbital space with size of 10-30 cm and absolute value of range ratio centred at 1 km/s, the symmetry of which indicates the symmetry of inclination of orbits of SD; 2) it is re-verified that SD is in spinning style of motion which sees slower change of radar cross section(RCS) with the increase of height, indicating SD at higher space tend to be more sphere-like, and kinetic characteristic of this can be used for identification of SD against functional space objects, satellites e.g..
