      A new method of measuring neutral atmospheric density in the upper mesosphere

      • We carried out a special observation test using all-sky meteor radar and stratosphere-troposphere radar at Kunming radio station(25.6°N, 103.8°E) in the 2014. According to the temperature obtained by the temperature gradient method, a new method for calculating the atmospheric density is proposed by using the atmospheric physical pressure and temperature formula. After we determine the peak height of Kunming meteor radar, the height density profiles of the two radars are in good agreement. By using the proposed method, we obtain the atmospheric density of 85 km to 94 km over the Kunming region. It provides a new way to detect the correlation parameters of the middle upper atmosphere.
