Abstract
For the wireless propagation environment of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, a stochastic reference MIMO channel model with spatial-temporal correlation is proposed, which models the combined fading caused by path loss, shadowing and multipath fading as Nakagami-Lognormal fading. Then, the theoretical expressions for auto-correlation and cross-correlation coefficients are derived. Additionally, a modified simulation method based on sum-of-sinusoids is proposed and the spatial-temporal correlation characteristics for this simulation model are also analyzed. Numerical simulation results show that the output statistical features agree well with the reference model, and the cross-correlation between sub-channels is always existing and becomes smaller as shadowing spread decreasing, while the auto-correlation changes rapidly and drops slowly.
