Abstract
In order to study the target detection performance and the network feasibility of portable high frequency surface wave radar(HFSWR) with compact receiving antenna, radar network experiment was accomplished in Bohai Sea at the end of 2013, and the data recorded were compared with Automatic Identify System(AIS) data. The results show the situation that missing detection occurs frequently, leading to a low probability of detection under the conditions of single station. But by data fusion of dual station, the detection probability can be increased by 10 to 20 percent, the joint detection probability exceeds 50% in most cases, and the maximum even reaches 80%, which preliminary validates the feasibility of portable HFSWR network to detect targets.
