Abstract
A water curtain system based foam-water dual-purpose curtain (FWDC) approach was put forward to solve the problems of conventional foam interfering screens, such as the contradictory indexes of its firing range and floating time, and the influence by wind and rain. FWDC was generated by a foam generator embedded water curtain system and transported through the piping system on warship. Foam curtain and water curtain could be discharged to cover the ship. Results show that FWDC is effective in interfering multi-band electromagnetic waves such as visible light, IR, MMW and CMW, etc. In our experiment, interfering effect of FWDC enhanced with the increase of gas content. Transmitted intensity ratio (T) of visible light, IR, MMW and CMW reach to 18.1%, 0.7%, 18.6% and 28.8%, and T remains 69.0%, 23.0%, 66.1% and 75.8% at 1 min after ceased. FWDC was proved to be feasible and effective in multi-wave interference for ship. The research can offer theoretical and experimental basis for improving technique and equipment of interfere foam curtain.
