Effects of the travelling ionospheric disturbance on sky-surface wave passive radar system
Ionospheric disturbance results Doppler frequency shift, the doppler broadening, fading effect, etc in sky-surface wave passive radar's echoes. Based on the ionospheric quasi-parabolic model, a numerical ray tracing technique is applied into the travelling ionospheric disturbance(TID) model for quantitatively studying the effect of TID on the PD transforms. The effects of TID on the radar system performance are analyzed combined with the key technologies of passive radar signal processing. Simulation results have guiding significance for the system design and practical application of sky-surface wave passive radar.
