Abstract
In order to analyze the influence of array layout on the performance of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of meteor radar, this paper conducts a comparison analysis of DOA estimation performance of three antenna configurations, namely crossed array, T array and L array, using the spatial spectrum of the array signal and the Cramer-Rao bound (CRB) as evaluation indicators. The performance difference between traditional spacing and adjusted spacing of antenna elements of crossed array configuration is analyzed. The results show that in the three antenna configurations, the performance of the T array is better than that of the other two configurations in all angles of arrival; the L array performs best over a range of azimuths, but performs poorly at other angles; changing the antenna spacing will improve the accuracy of the DOA estimate in one direction, but at the expense of reducing the accuracy of the DOA estimation in other directions.
