Abstract
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is an application scenario of the 5th Generation Mobile Communication Technology (5G) and beyond 5G (B5G) enabling industrial manufacturing, and it is also the key foundation of industrial production moving from traditional manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing in the “Industry 4.0” era. The variousity and complexity of the IIoT scenarios bring challenges to the deployment of communication systems in IIoT scenario. Accurately describing the characteristics of wireless channel is the premise for the design and optimization of communication systems in the IIoT scenarios. This paper first analyzes the characteristics of the IIoT scenarios, and summarizes the propagation of the IIoT scenarios based on literature survey, then introduces the modeling method of channel characteristic in the IIoT scenarios in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standard. Finally, the future prospect of channel research in the IIoT scenarios is presented.
