Recent research on retrodirective antenna(Invited)

Retrodirective antenna as a new kind of beam self-tracking antenna, based on the phase conjugation principle which is similar to the time-reversal technic, could automatically point to the direction of the incoming wave. This essay starts from the performance and application of retrodirective antennas, and introduces the research status of retrodirective antennas in the past ten years, including the polarization characteristics, frequency characteristics, and new structures of retrodirective antennas, and the applications of retrodirective antennas in wireless power transmission, radio frequency identification, electronic countermeasures and other fields, exploring the development trend of retrodirective antenna.
