Abstract
Due to flexible beam manipulation, coding metasurface has received tremendous interest. A tunable terahertz coding metasurface based on vanadium dioxide is proposed in this paper. With the help of tunable unit and non-tunable unit, a tunable terahertz coding metasurface is designed by use of the phase transition of vanadium dioxide from insulating to metallic state. In addition, a dual-band terahertz coding metasurface is designed to realize dual beam manipulation at both 0.97 and 1.97 THz. This work opens up a new way to design tunable coding metasurface and realize flexible beam control. It will be important for promising applications in the fields of communication and radar.
