Abstract
Coding metasurface constitutes an important research direction of information metamaterials. In this paper, we propose a design and generation method of Bessel beams through coding metasurface, which provides a new scheme for Bessel beam generation and manipulation. Meanwhile, the general Bessel beam generation methods through metasurface are summarized. Different Bessel beams are generated and designed through the reflective coding metasurface, which include single Bessel beam of the zero order, dual Bessel beams of the zero order, single Bessel beam of high order, and dual Bessel beams of high order. The related design theory and methods are presented for each kind of the designed Bessel beams, and the corresponding full wave electromagnetic simulation models are built and simulated for further validation. Moreover, due to the development of the information metamaterials theory and technology, on the basis of coding metasurface, this Bessel beam design method can also be applied in the related information metamaterials, such as in near-field wireless information/energy transmission, and near-field radar detection and imaging. Bessel beam is also an alternative application scenario for information metamaterials.
