Abstract
This paper introduces a broadband dual-polarized filtering horn antenna operating in K-band. By using a stepped horn instead of the traditional horn and introducing the filtering structure of T/Π-type units into the redundant space of the waveguide feeder, the antenna obtains a high efficiency and an out-of-band anti-interference ability. Simulated and measured results show that the −10 dB impedance bandwidth of the dual-polarized antenna is more than 5 GHz, covering the downlink frequency band of the K/Ka satellite. The antenna efficiency is higher than 58%, and it also achieves the uplink frequency band suppression of more than 33.1 dB. The antenna can be used as an element for the design of K/Ka satellite downlink large array antenna.
