Propagation characteristics of 3.6 GHz typical application scenarios based on parabolic equation

      • In order to analyze the propagation characteristics of 3.6 GHz signal in urban, suburban and rural areas, the parabolic equation (PE) method is used to simulate the longitudinal profile and regional coverage propagation characteristics. The simulation results are compared with those of the ITU-R P.1546 method. The analysis results show that: the PE method can describe the direct, diffractive and reflected beam of signal transmission, which matches the characteristics in various scenes; the PE method has a good consistency with the variation trend of ITU-R P.1546 method. The coverage simulation results are detailed descripted with irregular terrain changes, which reflecting the advantage of “deterministic prediction” . It is expected that this paper can be further expanded for potentially providing a basis support for the prediction of propagation characteristics in typical scenarios and have efficient engineering significance for the deployment of 5G communication system.
